My high School is doing it this spring I know the music and plot pretty well, I was just wondering:

What were your thought of it when it was on Broadway (in 93?), or if you ever saw it?
Do the 4 Gods dance a lot?
What is the set like and how did the tree appear in the end?

saw the reunion concert and all im going to say is this show rocks!!! gorgeous music.

I saw it on Broadway and thought it was one of the most creative shows I'd ever seen. There is not a lot of scenery to it. Everyone danced in the show at some point. The tree was just the actors creating the illusion of a tree.

In the (brilliant) original production, only TiMoune was a dancer/dancer. But everyone else (including the 4 gods) moved constantly throughout the show which was pretty much through-choreographed.
The set was just painted back and side drops. The tree was the actors lifting up TiMoune .
