Only Trent in Billy Elliot Tony performance! — Page 2

Well, I had little interest in seeing the show before, and that performance did not help my interest level. So I guess it did not work for everyone; however all the praise from the show makes me curious, and I'd like to check it out someday.

Yeah, I wasn't moved by it at all. As a rule, I'm not really a fan of the movie-to-musical thing. Throw children into the mix and I'm really disgusted (if you ask me, there's no place for children on stage or on screen). All that grunting and screaming by the kid just made me want to mute the entire performance. I'm not saying he isn't talented, just not my bag of chips.

Also, I read that the Tony committee only saw one "Billy" and voted based on one. Now, how is that fair? What if they saw the best Billy...what if the other two aren't nearly as good or worthy? Now they all have a Tony while other actors lost for their hard and deserving work. It just doesn't make sense to me.
