Be a little more specific, Stevos. How large is the theater? Will you have a subscription base? Do you have partners in this venture? Setting up a theater is a daunting task.

Good luck, Stevos! Sounds like a challenging task, but I think you can do it. If my lighting design career doesn't work out, I think this is what I would want to do.

My main advice would be Valium.

I almost forgot, it is REALLY IMPORTANT to keep the TD and crew happy. Actors are a dime a dozen, but a truely talented and commited TD is a Godsend.

Stevos~ you mentioned this last night. What have you got in place so far? "commited financial" investors? legal rep.? Board of Dir.? Marketing specs. for your area? This is a huge venture. This is just the infancy stage, dude.

Just teasing you. It is just such a straight jock/frat boy term that seems just a but out of place here. (Yes, I know there are probably some straight jock/frat boys posting here, but that term always cracks me up.) No offense meant, PB.

Okay, well right now, we are looking for a venue to do a test show, I have a director, designers, choreographer, possible md, and a few peeps that want to put up money, but, we are looking for a true finacial backer, but the good thing about all this, is that there are many theaters in the north and down town area of the city that are opened by normal people trying to advance theater, and they don't get financial backers till later, so if I dont find one Ill be ok.

Im going to open a small black box, under 100 people. In a buisness District. I just don't know anything about making a black box out of nothing. I was hopping yall might have an idea of companies that I could ask for help when I do in fact create the actual theater.

The premier season should start in January '05. or at least thats what we are hoping to have enough money and such to open by.

THANKS

STEVOS

OH BTW THE FIRST SHOW IS GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING< just waiting on the venue to get the rights for July /august.
