Mama Rose, all the way!
There are barely any male roles in Musical Theatre that come close. The only male role that comes even barely close to Mama Rose that I can think of is...well...Max Bialystock...and he only has one song ("Betrayed") that comes close to "Rose's Turn" in terms of content and plot motivation.
Besides, I think I sing "Rose's Turn" a bit too well in the shower.

Posted: 7/11/04 at 8:31pmwow this is a great thread...hmmm I would love to play Jonathan Larson in TTB becuase I just love the music. Ohh and also Jamie in L5Y because he has some really fun songs like the The schmuel song, A miracle would happen, oh and also Shiksa Goddess. They just seem like they would be soo fun to do! Oh I'd also like to be Zanna and the Emcee as well. Oh and also Frank 'N' Furter or Riff Raff in Rocky Horror! Hmmm...I know there are probably more but that's all I've got for now!

Curly - Oklahoma!
Bobby Strong - Urinetown
Wilbur - Hairspray
Billy Flynn - Chicago
Jimmy - Thoroughly Modern Millie
Billy - 42nd Street
Raoul or Phantom - Phantom of the Opera
Actually I can't imagine myself playing a guy's role, so I just picked random characters that stood out from musicals I like.

I love the song "I'm Calm", and I've always been attracted to spazzy and side-kicky roles. It's ideal
