just phoned them to be sure about collecting my tickets and all I need is the email confirmation :)
I don't even want to think about the cost of food & drink that night. Min $25 spend I think which isn't bad, think I'll just get a desert unless you have to have a 3course meal.

I want to go but feinsteins is so expensive for young folk..
I saw Brendan Cutrell and I was like wow! $25.00 for a ticket and maybe $12.00 for drinks HAHAH... my bill with the 2 drink thing came to $105.00 (with the tip included) and my drinks were the cheapest on the menu. I might go and see orfeh though because I love her.

Apparently Kate Shindle is also doing a solo show on June 2nd at 7? Not sure if this is definite yet, but somehow, I will be at both. Two goddesses singing their face off...
ETA: Kate said that her show is officially on June 2nd, but it is from 7-8, and Orfeh's is supposed to start around 8:30 so it's doable to go to both. Just pricey.

Guys, I WOULD NOT ADVISE ATTEMPTING BOTH. I've spoken to a lot of people about this, and as sad as it is that these events are on the same night, choices must be made. Feinstein's is on the other side of town, easily a 15 minute cab ride, WITHOUT ANY TRAFFIC. Now, getting across town at 8PM? There's gonna be some traffic, especially in the theatre district. Worse yet? You'd have to be in a cab by 8, assuming that Kate's gig starts EXACTLY at 7, and is only an hour long, does not start late, run long, etc. Oh, and that's not even thinking about Feinstein's advisement to get there an hour or so before in order to have time to make the minimum before the show starts.
Seriously, if you've already bought tickets to both, I'd see if you could get a refund for one and decide which you're attending.

Posted: 6/2/08 at 8:38amIt's Monday night, there is no traffic because most all the shows are dark and wouldn't be letting out during either of the performance times, so I don't know how it would take "15 minutes" in a cab to get from Birdland (west 40's) to Feinstein's which is on park and 61st. I also can't say for sure but I think the minimum for Orfeh's show was specifically changed in order for her fans to be able to come. Shows rarely start exactly on time so your post seems a bit alarmist Kelly2.

Posted: 6/2/08 at 9:00amThey were very strict about stopping the service by 8:15 or so last night for Emily Skinner's concert, which did start almost exactly on time. (And it had a $25 minimum as well.) So yes...it would be pushing it to get to both.

Thanks for the public service announcement jordangirl but the minimum for Orfeh's show is 25 dollars. I'm not going to both, just Orfeh's but it seems completely doable if you want to see both ladies perform.
*we posted at the same time, this was in response to your earlier post re: the minimum.

I was just quoting what they say in general. And it specifies the amount may be different for different performers.
I really wouldn't try to do both in one night with the start time only an hour apart. Too much can go wrong.

Posted: 6/2/08 at 9:18amSimple, don't wait around for your 700th photo with Kate Shindle and you should be on time for Orfeh's.

I'm going to neither ~ no desire. I just personally wouldn't schedule two things ending and beginning at most an hour apart. Of course I'm the weird type who likes to be seated and settled well before a show starts. I don't see how you can enjoy things when you're all rushed getting there. If that works for other people, more power to 'em. :)

It's really not alarmist at all. Most people aren't used to cabs, but even WITHOUT theatre traffic, there's ALWAYS traffic going by the park, and you're going to end up going near there at some point to get over to Park. And beyond that, if Feinstein's stops service at 8:15, how EXACTLY could one make the minimum if that's when you get there? And I've been to Birdland MANY times, their shows NEVER start precisely on time, I've never gotten out of there less than 10 minutes late. It's not alarmist, it's true, it would be EXTREMELY unwise to attempt doing both. Feinstein's suggests a time to get there for a reason, and the time they suggest getting there is when Kate's gig BEGINS.
Hate to say it, but it really would be a stupid thing to attempt. But if anyone does it successfully, congratulations, I would've loved to, but I refuse to risk missing Orfeh's performance because of the many, many things that could go wrong and cause one to be late in transit, and that would absolutely happen to ME. :-P If anyone manages to work doing both though, mad props!!
