With Passion being on PBS, it reminded me of a question I had:
Did the man who originally played Giorgio (Jere Shea) ever do anything else that anyone saw or heard of?

i think he kind of settled down and became a family man. but he's very talented!
ibdb.com lists PASSION as his only Broadway credit. Too bad; he was so damn good as Giorgio.

That's what I was thinking mef...
Thanks for checking anyways.
No problem.
If you pick up the PASSION DVD, I know that he does commentary. I have it, but have never listened to it with the commentary track on.
he sang the role amazingly, but his acting was a little stiff....
Wasn't he going to be Joe Hardy in the DAMN YANKEES revival? I remember something about him and Jarrod Emick switching roles around that period.
Originally Jere Shea was cast as Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees (and, I believe, played it in the San Diego tryout). Around the same time, Passion was having a workshop with Peter Gallagher as Giorgio. After the workshop, Gallagher left the show to do something else (a movie maybe?) and Jere Shea was offered the role. So after the San Diego tryout, he left Damn Yankees with Jarrod Emick taking over his role.
That is what I think happened, but I don't remember exactly.
he taught acting at my school last year.

Wow. Peter Galagher would've been interesting. I've always wanted to see Edelmann or maybe even Jeff McCarthy take a crack at that role.
Jere is so interesting to listen to on Passion's DVD commentary. Just a laid back guy doing something he loved.
