The executive director of the community theatre I work at was in NYC and had dinner with the playwright, Austin Pendleton, and he wants us to do his play. Austin's brother is from this area.
How is the current production in NYC?

That would be very exciting if we could do it!
The show is fine--the 'backstage' angle eventually grows tiring, but it's still better written than most of the dreck out there. The acting however, is FANTASTIC--five solid actors truly inhabiting their roles. Amazing to watch. All Chicago actors, i believe (an interesting note.)
The moral being, if you're gonna have someone play Olivier, they better be amazing.
