Are these the only recordings of these songs?
-OBC
-"Perfect Strangers": Ripley and Skinner
-"Moonfall": Streisand
I love these 2 songs, and would love to hear other takes on the material. Any other recordings out there of either?

Eminem and 50 recorded a surprisingly touching version of "Perfect Strangers," but then all that sh*t with Dre went down and they never released it.
You can still find it on Limewire, though.

Judy Collins recorded "Moonfall" (I don't remember the CD though) and two artists on LML records also recorded it. Christina Saffran Ashford on her CD "Temporary Insanity" and Rebecca Spencer on "Wide Awake and Dreaming".
Australian performers Judy Connelli and Suzanne Johnston recorded a version of "Perfect Strangers" for a duet CD of the same name.
Those are the only versions that I know of.

Posted: 5/13/06 at 4:19pmRenee Fleming recorded it. It's on her "Under The Stars" CD with Bryn Terfel. It's performed as one would expect an opera diva to perform it. Still an interesting listen.

Forgot about Renee's recording. It's so heavy-handed though (which is probably why). She "emotes" on every single note, as if she were dying of consumption right then and there.
And the tempo she used was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Australian Marina Prior does an excellent version of Moonfall on her Leading Lady album.
Suzanne Johnston and Judi Connelli also do a wonderful version of the Perfect Strangers.

Posted: 5/14/06 at 6:50amI have a CD called "Digital Broadway" that has sort of "smooth jazz" instrumental versions of show tunes. I heard "Perfect Strangers" on the radio, and went out and bought the CD. This was about 15 years ago - it might be out of print.

Nice melody but I defy anyone to tell me what that lyric is about. Singers bring it into auditions frequently and have no idea what they're talking about or how to activate it. Inevitably, it and their audition sink like a stone.
