Posted: 6/15/05 at 2:32amDo London transfers usually do out of town tryouts? I don't think Chitty did. Since the Woman in White isn't doing an out of town tryout, do think it is usually a good thing for a West End transfer to do an out of town tryout?

Well, Dance of the Vampires definitely didn't do a try-out
(though it bloody well should have). To answer your question
more specifically: wouldn't the WEST END show be the tryout?
What's the point of a try-out if the show's already successful?
Think about it - for some time :)

The number of examples of London Successes/Broadway failures is countless. Maybe they'd have a better chance if they tried to do something out of town first before they made the monetary commitment to go to Broadway...

Or just a prolonged preview period. Who knows...
It all depends on the style of show it is

Not to sound bitchy...but I guess it's gonna sound that way anyway...
'tryouts' are for sports, they are called 'auditions' :)
