No Reidel talked about that in a recent column and William Wolf said that Avenue Q was nominated last year.
So Avenue Q does not qualify this year.

You're right, Corine - I forgot that the Drama Desk had already made their ruling.
I don't think the producers should be too upset about the lack of OCC or DD eligibility this year; I'm sure they will get plenty of recognition when the Tony nominations are announced.
I am so happy for Kerry Butler. I really enjoyed her performance in Little Shop, and despite the negative press she had gotten in the past, I am glad that they were able to nominate her based on her performance alone and not be influenced by the reviews.
Cheers,

I am really unhappy about the snubbing TABOO took, though I expected this. WHERE THE HELL IS RAUL & LIZ AT LEAST?
Happy for Cerveris, he is GREAT in ASSASSINS

Well, the Outer Circle is a critics' organization, so some of them WROTE those reviews.
I still don't understand how shows that haven't officially opened yet/are in previews (Caroline, Assassins, Bombay Dreams), can be nominated?
What in the world are the nomination criteria anyway?!?!?!
