ok....I saw this show on thursday night because I'm always up for free theater...and Lucifer is HOOOOOT. His name is Paul Schaefer **insert favorite Letterman joke here** The guy can sing too. He has a gorgeous voice.
The show itself was entertaining, though really needs some work. The actors were working their asses off on the stage, and beelzebub (sp?) was freaky as hell. Poor Adam and Eve had to be on that stage in their underware for a full 2 hours.
The songs are kinda catchy, and the show was fast paced. I will say that it was a cool way to look at a story that everyone knows. We got to see it from Lucifer's and Sophia's (the divine goddess of something) point of view.
I just don't know if sung through scores are ready to make a comback. Look at WIW and Tale of 2 cities. I saw the Man in the Iron MASK reading, and it was DREADFUL. however, this was a valiant attempt, and I enjoyed myself.
It's worth a gander if you have an AEA card cause it's FREE.
