I know she is currently contracted through July 2nd, but is she going to extend her contract? If so - for how long?
I haven't seen the show, but I'm dying too.
How much longer will Michael Cerveris be in it? I'd really like to see it with the two of them.
Unfortunately the show has only been playing to half filled houses of late, and there has been some murmering that SWEENEY may close in July.
If the Tonys booster ticket sales, than LuPone may extend, but I think the entire situation is just very up in the air right now.

It could get a boost if they put Cyndi in it!
I don't think the Tonys will give it much of a boost. If all the reviews the show has gotten and good word of mouth has not helped Sweeney to continue to play to full houses, I don't think the Tonys will make much of a difference.
Probably right, Oasis, and the truth continues to be, that there is always a limited audience for SWEENEY and this production has exceded everyone's expectations for it. If it closed tomorrow it would still be an artistic and financial hit.
That said, given the B.O. numbers for THREEPENNY OPERA, I don't think Lauper would be much of a draw...
Although that may be true, I'm certainly hoping it's not the case.
I revisited the show on Wednesday for the first time in a few months. It's truly brilliant. The show, the cast, the whole package. I will be SO bummed the day the show is announced to close.
The show/she have had solid positive reviews both from critics and audiences, and Patti is soooooo awesome in the role that I would hope- and THINK- that the exposure on the Tony's- especially IF she/they win anything- will help.
There's evidence that major Tony wins often give at least a tiny bump in the box office immediately after the Tonys.
Since this revival is almost a lock on two major trophies (Best Revival and Best Director of a musical), the clear favorite in another (Best Actress in a Musical) and a possibility in the other acting categories (not to mention some of the technical awards), it stands to reason they'll have a host of Tony awards to tout if they have the money for another ad campaign.

Well, I am certain they will win something. Most likely it will get Best Revival (many will be shocked if it doesn't) and Best Direction. But I seriously doubt that it will make that much of a difference. Sure, I think they will get a small boost in sales. But think about the people who watch the Tonys, are there that many people watching who will be hearing for the FIRST time that Sweeney is a great show?
In any event, I do hope that you are right and I am wrong.
MB, I was thinking that Cyndi in a WELL REVIEWED show might make a difference.
