I thought that would work.
I have a show tonight and I am getting kind of nervous (not too prepared)
What do you guys do before a show to relax and focus your energies?
..wow that paid me my attention
Jump and shake. oh, and I know this sounds gross, but releiving yourself actually calms down nerves.........
Take deep breaths and think wonderful thoughts, and just picture that the audience isn't there, only don't pretend so much that you mess up a lot.
Oh and drink water or tea. That always helped me calm down
Good luck tonight! If I might ask, what show?

Whenever I am in a show, at the 30 minute to show time, I go outside with a cup of tea, and just sit with my eyes closed, drinking and breathing. And then, after about 10 minutes, I say a line or two or sing a little from a song, and then I am ready to go...

i do a warm up. like a vocal warm up and just shaking different parts of my body. when your body is tense, you can't do anything correctly. just breath, and loosen up your neck...stretch

I try to get in a 90-minute yoga class some time during the day. If I don't have time, I do some yoga sequences on my own, and then about 10 minutes of deep, deep breathing. Also, a nice cup of tea makes me feel fab.

I usually just get into character by sitting in an empty space or going outside and closing my eyes...and then I take some deep breaths and get into character.
Strange, but true.
yes! yoga works!
play with yourself*

adreneline blockers ... jk
but really, just find a routine for you. you know what your body needs. when you stick to the routine, your body will get to know it and realize 'ok this is relaxing time now.' try to release tension in muscles that are tense or you know get tense when you are nervous (i try to stretch them and then tremor .. if it's still tense, try to lie down or sit quietly). and remember to think positively .. that is probably the best thing you can do.
i used to pace around in a quiet area offstage and think about my character.
My school show gave out play pro pennies. Each member of the cast and crew gets one and you keep it on you at all times. That way if you're onstage and you're nervous, anywhere you look, someone else has the same penny, binding all of you together.
That's cute, but couldnt it have bad effects on stage? like distraction cuz I know if I had that I would ADD like CRAZY
