I did not see Patrick onstage.
There were many Rauls; it is possible he was there, though he never played the stage version.

Oh well...in the photo coverage, there was a shot (after the Phantoms) where it looked like there were Raouls and one of the front row looked like him...

Great quote from Patrick last night in this article:

Does anyone know if the Past-Phantoms onstage included Ted Keegan?
Hahaha Beacs...if Phantom is BATB, wouldn't that make Raoul/Patrick Gaston?
I was too far back to be able to spot him or specific people up there. I was trying to look though, if nothing else b/c if he indeed was up there, that would mean if another certain someone from the movie was in attendance he too would be up there...didn't notice any especially different special masks...and I saw 3 men in kilts but none of them were Gerry! They were taunting me...being Scottish and not him and all...
I do wish...the playbill has a list of all 244 Broadway members of Phantom ever, but I wish they made a list of everyone who was actually on the stage. Oh well.
Wow, Beacon, could you shorten that URL, please?

Though it was once rumored, I wish to assure you that I am not Phantom2.

How do you shorten an URL?
I'm not techno-savvy.

All Hail: Phantom of the Opera

Ditto!
i would LOVE to see the dance the 'CAT' did for the Phantom/cast
It was indeed a special evening, as someone who has seen and adored the show since January 1988 being there was a true thrill.
The show itself has never looked better, every jewel sparkled brightly!
Howard McGillin's athletic and vocally dangerous Phantom, Sandra Joseph's nearly definitive Christine and Tim Martin Gleason as a passionate and youthful Raoul were a splendid and moving trio...special mention must be made of George Lee Andrew's inspired Monsieur Andre', he truly deserved his entrance ovation as he has been an important part of the productuion since it's first Broadway rehearsal.
I wished the wonderful and quite gifted Steve Barton could of been there, but I'm sure he was smiling down on the entire event, his Raoul by the way has NEVER been bettered.
The special finale was, as everyone has noted, perfect, with the final speech by Michael Crawford an emotional and cathartic example of the show coming full circle....as I made my way home later in the evening, I made a point to look back at the theater and take a moment, to remember what it was like the first time I saw the Majestic lighting up 44th st with the Phantom logo all those many years ago... and how lucky I felt that I was able to have been there last night to cheer it on..we both are much older, but still easily surrendering to "the music of the night".
Hail and Bravo, long may it haunt Broadway and beyond.
Nothing but praises about this event. Unfortunately I couldn't be there..but I spoke to a few phantoms yesterday. The main adjectives were "really cool, wonderful, classy, well done ...and this is the way LM should have gone out"
phantom numbers...I'm getting a confirmed list. But here's who was mentioned to me, and I spotted in BWW's great photos, Hugh Panero, Gary Mauer, Brad Little, Ron Bohmer, Ted Keegan, Jeff Keller, Kevin Gray, Mark Jacoby, Craig Schulman, Keith Butterbaugh (who remember Keith & his main role in POTO opposite who?)
Lots of happy thoughts surrounding the night and a handful of funny, interesting stories.
Congrats. to all involved and those fortunate to be there.

I was there, and could not recognize any of the Phantoms from where I was sitting. Was Hugh Panaro there? I thought he was in CA doing LESTAT that night.
It was a great night!!
I wish I could have been there when A CHORUS LINE became the longest running show...That was a real spectacular evening.
Hi Lizzi~ Katherine may have been one of the handfull Christine's. Terry Bibb was the Christine I had in mind when they came to Philly in '92 ...but 1.what role did Keith mainly play? and 2.complete the love triangle. (extra points if you can properly pronounce Keith's last name). :)
(Keith has moved on to eventually produce a series of concerts programs geared towards symphony presentations called " Symphonically Yours". He's one heck of a nice guy)
Hugh's on the list as very much present at the gala.
Hugh was in CA doing Lestat. He wanted to go, but because of his commitments, he couldnt
My error...I was told he made it. Maybe it was Hugh Jackman or Hugh Grant...just teasing...but the name Hugh was mentioned for sure.
Roz, get us clear on this one.

FYI everyone....the current Playbills given out at the theater are not the special editions they gave out on Monday night, but they have the "Record Breaking Performance" insignia above the title page, like opening night Playbills.
