I have never seen GYSPY, but can someone please explain what is happening in this picture?
It looks like she's gonna strangle her.

Posted: 7/4/06 at 10:36pmIt looks like Madame Rose is explaining to her daugher, the soon to be Gypsy Rose Lee, why she needs to go out onstage to strip for the first time. Or Madame Rose may be explaining to Louise how to strip without actually getting naked. It's probably one or the other. You should see the show sometime if you can, the movie (with Bette Midler) isn't half bad. : )

Posted: 7/5/06 at 11:46pmshe's telling louise what to do to prepare for her first strip. only moments before rose tells the theater owners that louise will strip against louise's will. so louise sits quietly in front of the mirror while rose launches into a two page monologue- frantically trying to make louise, her "no talent ox" into a stripper "star" in the five minutes before she goes on stage.
