Pageant Off Broadway?

I searched for an existing thread but I could not find anything about the current off broadway production. I know what its about and it sounds wonderful but I was curious to hear opinions on the current production. I am thinking about getting tickets. Any info/insight would be wonderful. Thanks!

I saw this last night and loved it. It's hysterical, the costumes are great, and the cast is top notch. I did rush ($29.50 two hours before curtain, cash only) and was in the fifth row; well worth seeing, I think.

I'll be the voice of dissent. The cast works hard, but this is a really thin show that is incredibly dated. Most of the humor rests on the "novelty" of men playing beauty queens, and that's just not enough to sell it anymore. Marty Thomas is particularly delightful, but jokes about interpretive dance and Tina Yothers just don't bring the laughs like they once must have. I found it a chore to sit through even with the short running time.
