For just over a year, I have been creating paintings whose proceeds go to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS. I want to keep producing these, but the cost of the giclee prints along with the painting supplies and Swarovski Crystals is racking up. I have done a total of 16 of these paintings to date so far, with more on the way.
My goal is not just a dollar amount, but the ability to keep creating these and donating them to BC/EFA.
Giclee prints of these paintings have been donated to BC/EFA and I do not make a penny on them. Since the start, my fundraising efforts have brought in over $12,000 to the charity.
This current series of original pop art portraits were inspired by my strong desire to keep contributing to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising efforts. The work celebrates the collaborative efforts of designers, dressers, hair and make-up artists and yes, actors (the actual actor sits for me to take reference photos in full costume, hair, and makeup). All of those involved in bringing an iconic character to life for an audience. By combining my passion for performing and performers, as well as working in unusual media (Playbill's, Swarovski Crystals, etc... ), My work has a unique vibrancy and texture that has peaked the interests of the Broadway community.
Please help me continue to grow this painting series to raise funds for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.
