Yes! I love this show. I think it will be amazing. It's official. Kathleen Marshall will make her directorial debut with this revival. Let's start casting, shall we? For Sid- Brent Barrett did it once. I think he would be amazing, but I think David Elder could do a great job as well. For Babe- I would say...Jane Krakowski! It's too perfect! Brent and Jane- Sid and Babe!

I had major issues with the Encores cast. Brent Barrett was too...femme and Karen Ziemba was too...butch! I think that Tom Wopat should be offered the role of Sid on the spot!

I've played Hines twice.... I think I should be cast as him in the revival...though I'm 16. Hehe. Those jokes are so bad you NEED someone with perfect comedic timing....I say Lewis J. Stadlen. He could do wonders to the role. The whole Groucho Marx thing... For Gladys... the one who played Ado Annie in the recent Oklahoma revival (if she can dance).
For Sid, I think Patrick Wilson could do the part better than Brent Barret. He can belt too, but has a lighter feel on stage (a great presence, but he is lighter...it's hard to explain but you know what I mean). Babe is difficult. I don't know.
Prez: I say Roger Bart, but I could be wrong. Hasler has to be Ernie Sabella. Mabel: A sweet old lady...they'll find someone.

Patrick Wilson? Patrick Wilson? Did somebody say Patrick Wilson??? I love him!
Rebecca Luker has been offered a role.
As Babe? Oh god. Babe is NOT a Soprano role! Why would they cast her. I mean, she's great for Maria in The Sound of Music or Marian in The Music Man, but Babe in The Pajama Game? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they cast her as someone else. But if she's Babe? Oye Vey!

I just heard from TSMrW. He's already in London preparing for the POTO film. He won't be available for any stage work for quite some time. Alas!
i enjoyed the revival in the 70s with Hal Linden, Barbar McNair and Cab Calloway:)

Is this a good show? What is about?

Hon, if you have access to the internet then why not just type PAJAMA GAME into a search engine and research the show? Wouldn't you rather become self sufficient than wait and hope for someone to answer your question? And whether or not it's any good it subjective. Guess someone out there must think it's good or why would they plunk money into a revival.
On another note, two years ago I saw Robert Cuccioli play Sid. His performance is still burned into my memory. And his "Hey There" still resonates in my mind.

THE PAJAMA GAME is about pajamas.
I think Tammy Blanchard or Sutton Foster would be fun casting for Babe.

Brent has a much stronger voice then Patrick Wilson.
Patrick is good but Barrett has a voice from the Gods.
He was breathtaking in Encore's!
My cast in the broadway production:
Babe- Emily Skinner
Sid- Tom Wopat (name value)
Gladys- Sara Gettelfinger (a fantastic dancer currently in NINE and also understudying Jane Krakowski)
Hines- Brad Oscar

Yes that would be easy, but I like to do it the hard way!! :) And never call me hun again. Thanks!!
I think Brad Oscar would make an amazing Hines. It would give him a chance to start off in a show, making a name for himself. As for Sarah Gettelfinger as Gladys- there are better people for that role. I say Kerry Butler.

Like I said, I have never seen this so I am not sure of the characters.

Well, Sweetie, I didn't call you hun. I'm not BroadwayGuy2. Don't care if you have it hanging or not. And expecting answers to be handed to you isn't doing it the hard way. It's the lazy way.
And yes, it's about pajamas. Or more exact, it's about the pajama game. (Is this where I'm suppose to insert the LOLs?)

Dearie, I've never talked to you. Haven't spoken a word.

Did I read a posting above in which Corine ventured to say something unflattering about TSMrW???????? How dare she! I'm not the sort of gentleman who approves of physically abusing women but when it comes to Corine, I can't seem to forget Sir Noel Coward's famous line in PRIVATE LIVES: "Some women should be struck regularly--like gongs."
Furthermore, Corine, when you are making comparisons you should use the correct word. It's "than", not "then". Someone with such pathetic writing skills should not deem herself worthy to be a columnist.
Have a mediocre day.

Sorry, but Brent Barrett does not have a stronger voice than Patrick Wilson's. Wilson has a really golden tone in his upper register, where Barrett can sometimes get reedy. They are both very talented men, but I saw Barrett in the Encores' Pajama Game, and now would love to see Wilson take a crack at it, should the revival come to pass.

Amy Archer, you have suddenly become one of my favorite people.
TSMrW will not be able to participate in this production for some time. As I stated earlier, he's already begun rehearsing the POTO movie and it's a project that will probably go on for many months.

BroadwayTheater 11, I think you owe Etoile an apology. She was only trying to be helpful. Okay, sweetie pie?

Barrett was wonderful with his material in "On a Clear Day" and I like him in "Chicago". You know what you get with him, and he delivers. But when Wilson came out with that pure, sweet tenor in Encores' "Tenderloin," I was floored. I had thought of him more as a pop/rock guy after "Bright Lights, Big City," and I was shocked to hear the quality of Wilson's 'legit' voice. Contrasting them further, Barrett could certainly sing Curly's songs in "Oklahoma!" but would he have worked as Jerry in "The Full Monty"? Wilson is a very versatile performer, and I'm anxious to see him do more.
