Pamela's First Musical is one of my all time favorite books. It's a short story and if you haven't read it before and are a member of this forum then you MUST do yourself a favor and get a copy of the book. Here's a brief synopsis which I guess is a
SPOILER:
It's about a little girl named Pamela who for a birthday gift from her aunt Louise (I think that's her name) is being taken to her first broadway musical. The book follows her day in new york as she goes to the Russian Tea Room and to Times Square and then the book tells the story of the musical she sees. After the first act of the show she goes backstage and meets the entire creative team of the show, who are all celebrating their recent sweep of the Tonys. She then returns to watch the second half of the show which I think ends with a good old fashioned broadway wedding. That night when she goes home she has a wonderful dream about staring in a musical herself. THE END
One thing that is really great about the book is that it is full of facts about a musical that most kids wouldn't know, like what an overture is, what intermission means, and what a ghost light is.
Again it's a wonderful children's story and is pretty short but I believe it is a must have for any fan of musical theater.
I'm going and I'm very excited for the cast they have lined up, especially Miss Murphy.
I was introduced to Carolee Carmello in Mamma Mia in December and ever since I became so inspired and touched by her personality and voice. Obviously my name is bundy5000 cause i am obsessed with Married With Children. David Garrison I almost saw in wicked but got hospitalized. I am so excited, I dunno my exact seats but I know they are in the orchestra section.
I'm very excited about it! It should be a very special performance.
The book holds a special place in my heart...
Jewishboy, I am so jealous! I expect a detailed review though. How exciting.
umm... dont know that much about it... just the stuff from the link... but it sounds good

I thought I saw Michael Riedel's name in the list of those appearing
Check your Times today & see what I mean.
What role would he play?
it does say he will be appearing but remember the cast is subject is subject to change
I really wanted to get tickets for this but I have tickets for in the Heights already that same day. It looks like its going to be amazing so im really disapointed I can't make it.
As for the after party I didnt think that they would let just anyone in but I could be wrong because I never tried to go to an after party before. That would be cool if they let anyone in, maybe I'll swing by and see since I will be passing it after my show.
anyone else coming to this Fantastic Event?
eh i got my ticket. Not want i wanted seating wise but oh well. I will be in row Q seat 114 orchestra level
I'm extremely tempted. I bought the book and had it signed, and keep it with my Rosensweig Playbill. (Since- I've managed to collect The Sissy Duckling, also autographed. Bernadette Peters Broadway Barks book just arrived and if I get that one signed, apparently a new hobby has begun!
The show seems like such fun!
I can't WAIT!!!!
I guess Sardi's is not allowing anyone into the place from 3 to closing. Besides the after cast party
Anyone else new to getting tickets?
Anyone else new to getting tickets?
I wonder if any stars are going to be in the audience?
