I read an earlier version of it that was a little messy in spots, but very very funny. Vastly better than the hapless movie, "Isn't She Great?" which was also about the relationship between Susann and Mansfield.

Who the hell cares now anyway! I'm not at all interested. There was a crappy movie with Bette and Nathan recently, a hideous made for tv bomb with Michele Lee and now this show has had more cast changes than the entire run of A Chorus Line!!!

Here's a very good reason to care about Paper Doll. It was co-written by Mark Hampton. His play, Full Gallop, about Diana Vreeland and starring Mary Louise Wilson was one of the best and most deliriously entertaining plays I've seen in the past decade.

You are right about Full Gallop. But, why not do something other than just rehash of previous crap. This is the reason why no one wants to star in it, sooo many peaople have dropped out and ulimately won't run because of the bad previous press.

Though I'm not involved with it, I do know the history of what happened with Paper Doll... It was a set of very strange mishaps and circumstances with each of the ladies involved with Paper Doll dropping out, not necessarily the quality of the script, despite what the estimable Hartford Courant had to say on the subject.

Susann began on Broadway, I think, in bit parts - and her cultural influence on the 1960's was tremendous. I truly hope this play gets somewhere.

I haven't read it, but its history is certainly storied. ISN'T SHE GREAT wasn't very good - and I think it was the script.

Fingers crossed that Jackie finally makes it to Broadway!

I don't know about this. It seems to me a bit "Why-botherish". Are there really that many people interested in seeing this story that haven't already seen the horrible films? I love Swoozie and wish her the best, but I don't really see her in the role.
