She was invited to do a reading as part of the Public's 50th Anniversary celebration. They just finished a series of one night only readings of several of the notable plays that started life at the Public Theatre including For Colored Girls, Colored Museum, Top Girls, Curse of the Starving Class, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Short Eyes, The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel and, yes, Miss Magarida's Way. It wasn't about her -- it was about honoring the history of the Public Theatre and there's nothing "tired" about that.
