are they atrocious?
How difficult is it to get SRO seats since they don't have a rush and if you do get them, is it a decent SRO?
Thanks in advance.
well, I'm not sure how hard it is to get SRO but if it's standing, you just stand in the back. And move around in the back if you want. So the view is what you make it.

I've seen the show from both Partial View and SRO, and both are fine. The first time I saw the show was with a friend who had an extra seat in the 6th row on the left aisle. It was a GREAT view, all you miss was a bit of the action of the far left side.
SRO isn't hard to get as long as you're willing to get up early and be in line by 6:30-7 AM. The sound is a bit dampered but a good view - all you miss is the top of the stage. And it's worth EVERY PENNY of the $26.25 it costs!
Thanks very much downbeat!
I think I may plan to do SRO for Spamalot while I am in NY.
They are horrible! It completely ruined the show for me. I couldn't see a third of what was going on onstage and I couldn't appreciate the show at all. It really sucked. Not recommended at all.
Yeah, I have never been a big fan of the "partial view" at "full price" mentality, but on occasion - partial view seats can be quite good so I figured I would look into it.
I have 3 open slots left in my vacation show schedule and am trying to decide between Rent, Spelling Bee (TKTS or SRO), Spamalot (SRO), Hairspray and Sweeney Todd if I am able to get tickets when they go on sale.
Spelling Bee I am pretty sure we are going to see since there seems to be a lot of stuff dark on Sunday night. My wife really wants to see Rent (for her 82nd time but for the first time in nearly 7 years) and Spamalot and I am leaning towards Sweeney Todd and Spamalot.
My old boss went to see this and had two choices, both partial view seats in the left setion. She got, I want to say they were Row G or H partial views, which were fine and not too partial at all. But the other partial view seats that were available were closer (I want to say Row C?), and she was told (by the broker!) to not buy those, that the closer partial views are just awful.
If that helps any.
:)
Yeah... the closer you are to the stage with those partial view seats, the worse off you are. Also the very upper seats of the middle balcony are a problem too. The first time I saw Spamalot I was in, I believe, row H up there... and, honestly, one or two rows higher and we would have missed a lot of the action.
As for SRO.. not bad for the price you're paying. You miss some of the animations projected on the scrim, but since I'd already seen the show before I could fill in the gaps. Don't know how a first-time viewer might regard SRO...

Hey. I haven't tried SRO so I don't know. But I had partial view in like the 7th row all the way to the side and it was horrible!!! I would have preffered the last row in the whole theatre!!!
