Does anyone know if Stew and Heidi plan to or already have released the rights?
My real question is, do you think a show like that could be done with a different cast? It's autobiographical and Stew's character is...Stew. Could it work having someone else play Stew playing himself? Like regional productions of [title of show]? Or would it feel like a crappy cover band? I just wanna know cuz I have become a hardcore Scaryotype; I'm so jealous of the original cast for getting the chance to be in that show and I'd love to be able to experience being in a production Passing Strange.

I believe it's being produced by New Rep in Boston either later this year or in 2011. Very excited.
I think it would be great fun to see a theatre devote a whole season to autobiographical shows featuring someone other than the person for whom it was created.
