I've just got back from Chapel Hill NC where I saw Patti's C W S show last night.
I've never seen her in concert before, but IMHO, the show was fantastic. There were a couple of places where I felt she held back, Everything's Coming Up Roses was one, surprisingly, but once she got past the first few songs, everything was great! She looked really nice, wearing very attractive outfits in both acts. She was engaging and funny with her chatter between songs, as I expected, but there was not as much banter as I would have thought.
I was told by someone who had seen C W S 2 other times, that the second act had been different everytime he saw it, noting the addition of Anyone Can Whistle and a couple of other songs.
My favorite was when she sang Cole Porter's So In Love. Took my breath away, it's one of my favorite songs. She was also exceptional, to me, on Don't Cry for Me Argentina, I Never Do Anything Twice, Anyone Can Whistle, and Being Alive. I also loved the way her unamplified voice filled Memorial Hall as she sang A Hundred Years from Today.
Totally worth the 6 1/2 hour (one-way) drive. At least it was to me. Just my opinion.
