As the Pulse reported, a new BOY FROM OZ's success-inspired musical will be made using the songs of Paul Jabara (Enough is Enough, It's Raining Men...). Does anyone else feel that THE BOY FROM OZ deserves some credit because Peter Allen's story is so well transcended through his music and the way it is presented on the stage?

Wah? That show didn't succeed because of its book, it succeeded because of its cast, and especially because of Hugh Jackman. They transcend their material.
If someone's going to make a bio-musical in The Boy From Oz style, they'd better find one hell of a star to play the main character and some very talented supporting players. Did Jabara even have a cabaret/concert career and followers like Peter Allen did? Was he more famous outside the U.S.?
The Boy From Oz shouldn't have inspired imitators; it should have been a cautionary story. Unless the creators are convinced they have the next Hugh Jackman up their sleeves (which I sincerely doubt).
This whole idea sounds less than wise to me.
