Does anyone remember Pebble and the Penguin? The Don Bluth animated penguin movie. I'm thinking it would be a perfect stage adaptation. It would be the same love story between Hubie and Marina. But with a more modern high school/Shakespeare twist. I'll go into more detail later. And an expanded score by Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman. I'll tell you more if anyone is interested.

^ One of the best love songs of course. To start off with, Hubie has to get home before a Pebble Prom which will be the dance to determine the graduating couples of their school Rookery Academy. But Marina is engaged in secret to Drake which is a violation of the Adelie mating ritual. Hubie and Marina are from rival school cliques. But not everyone on either side thinks they should remain enemies. Drake should be a tragic ex-BFF of Hubies but their friendship ended over her. And Drake has a history with Marina. So he’s a slightly more sympathetic antagonist.
