I agree with what you're saying. There IS no reason why it couldn't have been what I hoped it could be. I'm just not really arguing it, because that's up to the playwright, not me. As an outsider, I can only say, "I wish they used ____ like they did in the book," and watch from afar. I'm accepting it, though, because I still think it's a great show and it's fun. All I'm saying is that it's not deep.
Wicked is not deep. That's all I'm saying. It's fun. It's entertaining. But it's not deep, as it could be. That's ALL I'm saying.
"But of course, there is no winning with these arguments."
Of course. We just need these to keep us alive until the next big bit of Broadway news.
I think that wicked can be cut into so many levels...its just according how deep you want to go. When I am at the theatre watching a show I normally don't cut really deep into the meaning and the sub levels. I just enjoy the music and such. But when I read the words or sing the words, thats when it really gets to me. Of course there are times in wicked were it touches you but...o i don't know...i love this show...not my favorite but I do love it...i live in chicago and it is all that ppl talk about around here
