Performance Rights to The Producers

I heard somewhere that the performance rights to The Producers were to be released this year while the production was still playing on Broadway much in the way that Disney and MTI are releasing Beauty and the Beast and Aida.

Is there any truth to this rumor? For I figured with the movie also coming out it was a fat chance, but would someone who knows better enlighten me?

Disney and MTI have released B&B, as well as Aida, and theyre already being performed. The Producers is out, but has a restriction on it, so it is not available.

I undertand that, however Miss Saigon and Thoroghly Modern Millie and The Full Monty have the same restiction and they have already had countless regional productions.

My question is, will regional productions of The Producers soon materialize?
