Nice column today by Peter Filichia about the new cast members of Urinetown - as well as some of the original cast members still with the show.

re: re: Peter Filichia in Urinetown#2
Posted: 11/5/03 at 4:52pmYes, the theatre is being torn down and Urinetown is closing January 18. But that's still more than two months away.

Why are they getting rid of the theatre?
I really want to see Urinetown. *sigh* I hear it's coming to the Pantages.

Posted: 11/5/03 at 6:17pmI think Filichia is THE biggest hack there is. He makes Reidel look like a genius.

Aww, Al! Why do you say that?
(Pout) I'm surprised at you!
Filichia actually LIKES theater. He's better than Reidel.

Posted: 11/5/03 at 8:13pmI realize this but the few times I've actually seen him(Filichia) in person, he's been one of the most stuck up theater snobs I've ever met. Not a shred of warmth coming from that guy.

Catch the Tour while it's running#8

The current Urinetown tour is getting good reviews. It hits Philly Nov. 18-23 at the Academy of Music. http://www.kimmelcenter.org
I put in to cover it for the site. Already contacted a cast member for a mini interview, if possible.

Ya here is the full schedule...note that the dates are wrong. The opening night dates should be one more day than it says. The closing dates are right. They didn't leave a one day break for traveling. On all of the theatre websites that are hosting Urinetown says that there is a break.
Urinetown on Tour
re: re: Catch the Tour while it's running#10
Posted: 11/5/03 at 11:49pmthanks for the schedule. I'll be seeing it when it comes to Portland in May. It'll be interesting to see how it transfers from the fairly small Henry Miller in NYC to the 3,000 seat Keller in Portland.

And I should see it when it comes to Cleveland.

Posted: 11/6/03 at 12:22amthat's hilarious, BOJ! as for Filichia, sometimes he has insights that are interesting. i do think he plays favorites and gushes, and has a slight tendency to like any actor/writer/director/producer that also happens to be conventionally hot-looking. But he does do research and supports most of his points. i don't always agree with him, but there is usually something of interest in his "diary" which he is careful not to really call "reveiws."
