I saw him as Marius in the 3NT, but I don't remember anything about his performance.
Here is a video of him singing "Bring Him Home." I think it's pretty good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3fpHNnvxf8

I don't think he ever played Marius on tour. I saw him as Marius on Broadway 5 times. I thought he was absolutely perfect in the role and think the negative commentary is unfounded. His was the first Marius I really cared about. Not that the others were bad, but Peters attention to detail and his sincerity gave the character greater depth.
I couldn't imagine him as Valjean when I read an article some time ago in which it was mentioned he played Valjean in a regional production. I think that production was in Hawaii, but don't quote me on that.
Anyhow, I had trouble just imagining him looking the role, but then I did some Googling and he looked great in his fake, white beard, hehehe.
If Drew Sarich made for a decent Valjean, I'm sure Peter could pull it off. I say that only because there seems to be a general preference for older, gruffy sounding men for the role. When someone not fitting that iconic Colm Wilkinson description is said to be eyeing the role, people fall apart. The only reason I had trouble seeing Peter working in the role had more to do with the fact he WAS Marius to me, rather than any of that shallow "type" bull, lol.
I'd love to see his Valjean, but he'll always be Marius to me! :)

Yes, Peter was on tour, though for a short time. He joined in 2002 in San Francisco prior to the Shanghai run, performed there, then in Seoul and then whatever was the first US stop right after Seoul (Minneapolis, maybe)?

Oh, yes! He was too.
I guess I hadn't categorized his stint in the US leg of the diversion of the 3rd NT in my head as an official regular national tour engagement and had it under "Special."
My mind works in funny ways. With *this* much Les Mis info, it has to. :S

That rendition of Bring Him Home was very good, except for the last note.
I saw his Marius at least once (possibly twice, I'd have to check the Playbill), and I don't remember much about it good or bad.

Posted: 4/7/12 at 4:56pmI don't think there necessarily is a preference toward older men in the role of JVJ as I believe J. Mark McVey - who has played the role more than 3200 times now, started when he was in his 20's.

On his blurb on the website (http://www.lesmis.com/cast-and-creatives/cast/peter_lockyer/), it says "For Melanie" so I'm guessing he is.
