So.. I'm confused by Berstein's Peter Pan (Just bought the eder cd, which has some great music).
So, this was written to go with the Barrie play, not have it's own book. True?
Is there somewhere that says what lines cue into songs, etc?
Are right to perform it availible?
Who sings what? With Eder performing everything- I was confused.
What is this show's history?
I know these are some broad and baisic questions. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

If anyone wants to do a musical PETER PAN the generally opt for the 1954 version (Mary Martin) with a score party by Charlop & Leigh and partly by Styne, Comden & Green.
The OBCR of the Bernstein version (originally a Columbia Lp and briefly issued on CD in the late 1980s and - to my knowledge - never reissued) contains mostly dialogue.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Posted: 12/29/10 at 11:39amI have to admit I'm not a big fan of this work. When I was asked to design the play some years ago, the director considered this version and sent me a CD, and I was kinda underwhelmed. I dont know: the songs just dont fit as well as I'd hoped. We wound up doing the original Barrie, rather successfully, and I've always felt we dodged a bullet by deciding against the Bernstein.

"Neverland," which is sung by a women's chorus with a rather poor high soprano, was actually sung in the Broadway production as a duet by two mermaids.
