Posted: 10/5/04 at 11:46pmI saw him in Hairspray awhile before ANYONE left the show. He was in it for a week in April of '02 maybe? I dunno, but I KNOW I saw him. He was okay. I thought a little young for the part, but I didn't mind him as Wilbur.

Posted: 10/6/04 at 12:02amI saw Hairspray for the 4th time this past August, and I have to tell you, I actually found Peter to be my favorite Wilbur. He's got great timing, is light on his feet, and to me was the most believeble in the role. Although I have a very soft spot in my heart for Dick Latessa...I don't know...he just seemed more like Tracy's grandpa than her father. Just my take. Actually, this last time around at "Hairspray" may have been my favorite. I saw the OBC, I saw the original tour cast, I saw the show with Harvey/Kathy Briar, but I don't know...Carly, Michael and Peter seemed like the most "real", most believable Turnblad family. Just my take on the piece. I can't decide who my favorite Penny is. I was really partial to...um.....what's her name on the road....the one who appeared on Ryan Seacrest...fabulous voice and the way she moved in that finale dress?? Oh baby! Hehe...

Posted: 10/6/04 at 1:11pmIt cracks me up when people say Peter Scolari was a little young to be playing the role of Wilbur. I believe he's about 50, quite plausible enough to have a teenage daughter. I thought he did very well in the role.

insert -- Sandra Denise is FAB!
Peopel think peter is too young because Dick originated it. Quite sad really. Who cares?

Posted: 10/6/04 at 1:17pmI love Dick as Wilber his Wilber was just such a sweet old guy.. But I think Peter was good in the role also.. he tended to jump around a lot.. That kind of bugged me.. like literally he jumped up and down a lot but I like the was he played the character!

Posted: 10/6/04 at 5:54pmI saw him when Dick LaTessa was on vacation, and considering it was his first performance in front of an audience, he pretty good. I can only imagine he's gotten a lot better.

Posted: 12/10/04 at 10:58pmI didn't feel like making a new topic, but what ihave to ask has nothing to do with Bosom Buddies, but it does have to do with Peter. Hehe! ANYWAY! Is he the Peter Scolari in The Polar Express? I mean, it would make sense that is is, so. ;D

I loved Peter Scolari! He kinda was more dorky(which I find cute) Maybe it's just because I know him from Honey I Shrunk The Kids (the TV show)
Oh! I just realized why I keep thinking about Rick Moranis!
But Dick Latessa was closer to Jerry Stiller I think. They kinda look alike.

I didnt see Peter in Hairspray, but I just wanted to chime in that he's one of the sweetest men I've ever met.

Posted: 12/11/04 at 12:55pmi haven't seen him in Hairspray, but i think he's a fantastic and very underrated actor...my friend Genson worked with him in A Chorus Line and said he was great--onstage and off...he was also in the 2nd "Newhart" series for several years and i think received an Emmy nomination or two....
#22BOSOM BUDDIES Peter Scolari?
Posted: 12/11/04 at 1:01pmIt is quite a story .2 unknown actors star in a short lived TV series. One becomes an icon & the other has a modest career
#23BOSOM BUDDIES Peter Scolari?
Posted: 12/11/04 at 1:05pmHe was sooo great on Bosom Buddies, but expecially on Newhart...as for comparing him to Hanks, better to be modest than overrated
#24BOSOM BUDDIES Peter Scolari?
Posted: 12/11/04 at 5:57pmHe had the relatively small part of the Cop in Sly Fox last season and totally stole the show in the 2nd act courtroom scene.
