Let me first start off by saying, I LOVED THIS MOVIE, as well as the cast. I wouldn't change anyone. However, many people would have lol. If you still could, who would u have picked to play the parts??

For the Phantom: Hugh Panaro...The current Phantom on Broadway! I went to see him in Phantom 3 times! He would be a great Phantom!
For Raoul: SOMEONE other than Patrick Wilson...SO NOT HOT! He looks so wooden! (sorry fans out there)
For Christine: Emmy Rossum was a good choice.

All I have to say is TOURING CAST! I've seen them four times. Gary Mauer is a god, and should have been given the role. He is the best Phantom I have ever seen. His vocals are so powerful and beautiful. The man made me cry all four times I saw him.

Rebecca Pitcher, beautiful Operatic voice. Love her to death.

Tim Martin Gleason I think his name is, not sure, going to play stupid, but AMAZING Raoul. I took my friend to go see it, and she started bawling during 'All I Ask Of You', All she said was "How can one person be loved that much?" That's how much he conveyed to the role.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but shall very soon. But the touring cast still gets my vote.

I loved the movie as well! Even though I did have some doubts, being a huge phan of the stage production.

As for casting...I think the movie cast grew on me after a while. I obviously would cast Hugh Panaro in the role of the Phantom. Hugh looks young and sexy enough for the movie part...plus he sings like a God! But I'm quite content with Gerry too. Gerry may not be the greatest singer, but his good looks and appeal definitely distracted me from his flaws. LOL! :)
