I asked for the Phantom of the Opera DVD for my birthday from a friend. She got it for me, but it's a version that has no special features. I want the special features! I don't want to hurt her feelings by buying another version of the DVD. Are the special features worth buying another copy?

I think they were planning on releasing the Behind the Mask feature on a separete CD anyways so maybe you can just buy that when it comes out. It is definitely worth the extra money. It showed much more of the stage show's clips than I thought it would. Very educational about the show's history.

If you haven't opened it, you can easily just take it back to the store and exchange it.

if you have opened it, take it back to the store and tell them the dvd was scratched or not playing properly and that you would like to EXCHANGE it for the MORE EXPENSIVE two disc dvd with the special features. I suspect you shouldn't have a problem doing that. As Matt G pointed out, if you haven't opened it, the store will certainly let you exchange it in upgrade for the two disc dvd.

Is there a difference between the one DVD or the 2 DVD set? The special edition I got is only 1 DVD, but it does have the "Behind the Mask" feature...am I missing something?

I have the two disc. The first disc is just the movie. The second is the behind the mask, plus a making of the movie and a deleted scene.

Don't tell your friend and simply buy the 2-disc edition.

It's worth the price.

Hmmm, well I have all of that and it's only on one CD.

At least I'm not missing anything!
