Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but did anyone else know that if you preorder the extended movie sountrack cd from Amazon.com you can listen to a stream of the entire cd? I'm listening now and some parts are great! Others are... interesting. Still in all, I'm excited for the film.

I love the distinct nature of the leads' voices.
And, Patrick's Raoul is a worthy opponent for the Phantom. His "AIAOY" is so gentle and tender...
The Lair Scene sounds fantastic and I can't wait to match the music to the visual. The emotion is palpable.
Here's hoping I'll be in one of the Select Cities Dec 22nd!

Yeah my cousin and I decided that we would go to a select city to see it lol. I am currently on the title song. Gerard's voice takes some getting use to, but still good nonetheless. I love Emmy's lower register, it's so cool. Patrick is great. I can't wait to see this either.

Did anyone else seem to notice a voice crack (or pop if you will) on the line "Imagine me trying to hard to put you from MY mind." It struck me as odd, but maybe it's supposed to be because Christine is only in the early stages of training. Other than that, I'm loving the soundtrack. I only wish I didn't have to wait until December.

I'm not sure if I noticed it. She is supposed to be really shy and timid on that song, though, isn't she? Maybe that's why they did that. I love the title song, with the guitars, that is awesome. Emmy sounded great.

For someone who never sang before, however, Gerard did a fantastic job.

ya know...there is a rumor that they just recorded this ON set. so there could very well be a crack! and also emmy goes nasally on "back" in the title song.
I've enjoyed listening to the highlights. Emmy sounds lovely, and Patrick sounds very good as Raoul. I had some concerns about Gerry Butler, given the fact that he is not known as a singer, but I was very surprised by what I heard. He's not a perfect singer -- the voice is rough in spots, and he sometimes takes a breath in a place where a more experienced singer would not -- but for someone who only started vocal training within the last couple of years, he's excellent. The emotion in his voice as he sings "I Gave you my music..." is heart-wrenching, and his "You will curse..." gave me chills with the power behind it.
I love the sound clips. AIAOY Reprise is simply amazing, i cried and had shivers when i first heard it. I can't wait for the soundtrack!!

I've just been listening to the clips they play on the sight and from what I hear on that it sounds great. I can't really make any judgements til I hear it all though!

YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS????
"Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but did anyone else know that if you preorder the extended movie sountrack cd from Amazon.com you can listen to a stream of the entire cd?"
I just reread your message -- what you actually get is a stream of the highlights, not the entire movie soundtrack. All the major songs are on there though.
OMG. I was listening to the audio stream again and I noticed something that I didn't notice the first time. When the Phantom goes, "I am your angel of music......blah blah blah" There is a whisper underneath his singing, and quite frankly that is REALLLY FREAKY. I love it!!!!
if i had more money i would definitely have checked it out already... but i'm a poor... i gotta wait
well, you can cancel your order at anytime. So, you can order it...listen to it.....then cancel it.
yes. They tell you right on the website that you can cancel it right up to the day it is released. Heck, I did it. I ordered it to listen to it, then canceled it. But, then I REALLY wanted to order it, so I went back and re-ordered it.
cool!!! i'm gonna try that now
She is REALLY weak in the beginning but by the end she is REALLY good.
