Has anyone done standing room for Phantom? If so, is it worth it? Has standing room been selling out? Given that next weekend's performances are completely sold out, I don't think I have any other option to see it (besides trying the lotto of course) on my upcoming trip to NYC.

I would suggest getting to the box office as soon as it opens. That's what I did this week when I planned to do standing room and a ticket for orchestra row B opened up last minute. So you may be able to get a ticket that way. If not, if it's sold out, or only a couple seats left, you can do the standing room option. I heard the view is decent, you just won't see the top of the proscenium or the chandelier when it's in place on the ceiling due to the mezz. overhang. I got to the Majestic Theatre 45 minutes before the box office opened and only one person was in front of me. A group of others didn't start lining up up 15-30 minutes before they opened and I believe there's like 27 standing room spots.
You can also try to check telecharge daily in case there are any cancellations. But I admit, I've been looking for next weekend for my two friends and I have never seen that day open up with resale tickets.

Good question. I went on a Tuesday. So if it's a weekend show, it might be better to try to be at the theater 30-45 mins before they open.
