Posted: 6/22/05 at 10:36pmwell in a casting notice, they commented to come and sing contemporary broadway tunes (i.e. schwartz, boubil-schoenberg,etc.) the show has modern broadway score, not rock n' roll. I can't wait to hear it, I am pretty sure there must be existing audio of LESTAT workshop or reading....i'll let you know if i find anything

Hugh has NOT confirmed that he will be doing this yet. His own words: "I know it's on the internet, but for now, don't believe it."
We shall wait and see.

Posted: 6/23/05 at 12:54amI just saw Hugh today in Phantom! I absolutely adored him. He's fantastic and he really really made the show. I wish he would come out for autographs, though, cuz I stood there waiting!

i just read about this on broadway.com ...i'm actually very interested to see how it goes. i've dabbled in the vampire chronicles (read Lestat, IwtV, QotD) and really liked the stories. mix in a little elton john and this might just be broadway's first vampire smash hit. i didn't see "dracula" or "dance of the vampires", but i've heard they're not so good. so i'd like to see a decent bloodsucking blockbuster, for a change.

Posted: 6/24/05 at 10:50pmthis show (well the book Lestat) is about Anne Rice's hero, Lestat, and how he became a vampire, he turns his mom into one, his best friend, he meets some other older vampires in a coven, its a whole thing. also at the beginning of the book he is waking up from a long sleep, or seclusion or something i dont remember, in the 80's and he becomes a rock star. so there could be a potential for some really cool rock numbers here. its very kinky, the whole mother/vampire thing, a lot of it takes place in paris. i read it a long time ago i dont remember the details. if you want a clearer summary, there are TONS of fansites, anne rice has a huge following.

wow thanks... I really had no idea what this was about. Hey maybe it will do well and Hugh will be great. Although, I will miss him as the Phantom =-(
Gary Mauer would fill in as the Phantom? They should get someone new? I don't know... Is Gary good as the Phantom?
