I saw the national tour of PETER PAN with Cathy Rigby last night in Hartford, CT... and I have to say, it was better than ever! I saw the tour back in 1998, and I've seen the DVD of the show, but everything about this one was better. Cathy seemed to be at her prime, and more energetic than ever!

Howard McGillin played an excellent Captain Hook! He added so many cute little adlibs, and really nailed the role.

I've never been a huge fan of Elisa Sagardia... she's good as Wendy, but she's one of the only people in the cast who was with Rigby back in the 1997-98 tour... time for a change I think...

The flying was just as great as ever! The audience flight at the end was awesome. Cathy didn't do the flips in mid-air during "I'm Flying" as she does on the DVD, and in the performance of the number on the Tony Awards... That was cute, I missed it.

I still got chills when Peter asked the audience if they believed in fairies... all the little kid standing up and clapping... really takes you back to your childhood. Thats what's great about this show... a person of any age will love it. My friend who I went with last night did not want to go at first, she said it was a "kid's show" and it'd be boring... Well her mind was soon changed!

And I loved how Cathy did a Meet & Greet in the Lobby after the show... does she do that in all cities? She's such a sweetie... She sat there and signed autographed and posed for photos for over an hour after the show, and didn't leave till EVERYONE had seen taken! She's wonderful for doing this... after a performance like that she must be dead tired! She had her little dog Emma with her.... cutest thing ever! And so well behaved! It sat on that table and didn't move!

So, all and all, the show was AMAZING! Cathy told me after the show that it will go to Broadway in the fall... so I'm definitly going to see it again! Don't fail to see this production if you get the chance!

Neat. You've got me more excited about it. It's coming to Austin in the Fall.

Hmmm...the only show I've seen out of Peter Pan is the video. That was good.

A guaranteed smile on my face is when I see a PETER PAN thread on BWW.com. re: Phantom's Review of PETER PAN Tour

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
