Philadelphia Does Not Snub RENT

While admittedly the city of Philadelphia is severely lacking in having numerous venues for movie-going, I was surprised to discover that the only theatre in the Philly-Metro area that will be screening RENT for its opening weekend is out in Manayunk! I thought the City of Brotherly Love would have shown RENT a little more love...

There are MANY theaters in and around Philadelphia showing RENT on wednesday. They were all listed in Sunday's Inquirer. Specifically, the Ritz East (2nd and Walnut) will be showing it. Theaters do not always publish their movie times for new films until the day of. So just because it is not on Moviefone does not mean they won't show it.

Posted: 11/21/05 at 1:50pmTrust me. I go to the Ritz all the time and frequently cannot find the showtimes of their opening day films until the day of. Go to the Ritz website and it says that it will be showing on Wednesday at one of its Philadelphia locations (they are all within 3 blocks of one another). I was also there yesterday and there is a RENT poster in the lobby.

Posted: 11/21/05 at 2:14pmI'm about an hour north of Philly and was having the same issue....could only find one theater (in an area I wasn't really looking forward to going to) that was listed as showing the movie on Wednesday....but now a few others have released their times so I have a few more options!

Good Lord people, just go to the internet, try moviefone.com (movies.aol.com) or something. It's playing everywhere...
In the Northeast at Orleans 8, UA Grant Plaza, The Baederwood in Jenkintown, the Neshaminy 24, UA 69th Street, etc.

so the lesson learned here is RESEARCH before jumping to conclusions? And never just check one source?
