Here is a listing of the Philly Area's 2007-08 upcoming Theater Season. The list includes theater names and contact information.
This includes some major Philadelphia area theaters that present or host Broadway productions and theaterical concerts. If you know of Philly area professional production or theatrical concert or presentation taking place in 2007-08, send me the press release and I will list it on BWW's Penna. board.

The Kimmel Center and Subert Organization are jointly presenting the series in an effort to perpetuate theatrical attractions in both venues. ( There was a press release sent out months ago).
I beleive Avenue Q will be at the Forrest. I'm sure they will add more shows as time goes by. Nice to see the Forrest get active again.

Posted: 7/24/07 at 2:38pmI would be interested in knowing about productions playing the Forrest Theatre next season. That beautiful old theatre, which I believe is owned by NYC's Shubert Organization, deserves lots of shows. I saw the pre-Broadway production of PLAIN AND FANCY, with Barbara Cook, there in 1955. My Philadelphia aunt took me to see it--she introduced me to theatre in the 1950's beginning with the try-out of FLAHOOLEY(1951), which also featured Barbara Cook. It played what used to be called the Shubert and I believe is now called the Merriam. I will always be grateful to my aunt for starting me off to a lifetime of theatregoing.

I beleive the Merriam was called the Shubert a while back. Here's the link to their situation, at least for this season.
As mentioned, so far Avenue Q is the only show listed to start at the Forrest. But I have a feeling there will be a few more shows added in the 2007-08 season.

Any clue if Sweeney Todd will be coming?
And will any of these shows (particularly the Academy of Music shows) have student rush?

So far it's not listed on the Sweeney Todd tour schedule, but who knows? (intersting 2 former Phantoms Mark Jacoby & Keith Buterbaugh are/were Judge Turpin)
RE: discounted tickets; I am working on the PR people at the Kimmel Organization to offer a discount to BWW members with a member code. I'll post news on that if it happens.
