meeting Isaac Hayes was (as the kids say) awesome..he said such nice things, he really appreciated what I had tried to do musically, and I was (as I think that picture shows) in HEAVEN!!!!

Of course, I had been in heaven a good 2 1/2 hours up to that post show meeting!!

I think Michael looks amazing! I think the difference between his look as Edna and Harvey's is that Michael looks a little more...pretty. Not as homely, one might say. Which, of course, since those pictures were taken of Edna's most glamourous moment, he should be expected to look lovely (Harvey did as well!)! I'm curious to how he pulls off the housedress and iron look.

Oh woe is me. Now I'm upset that I'm going to miss it when I'm in NY next weekend. But I said to myself... No Chris, only see shows that you haven't seen already. It's probably for the best... hopefully I'll make it down to 'Hairspray' sometime this year.

Oh well, I'll take a walk past the theatre, and enjoy the ambiance street side.

(In addition to seeing the new principles, I'd like to see what Jeff Martin does as one of the nicest kids in town. He lived across the hall from me in college... I never thought I'd be seeing him on Broadway this soon, and in such a huge hit!)

ya know, my lover and people who run other theatre sites wonder the same thing about why I enjoy lurking and posting...

I just don't think a place where funny people congregate to revel in all things theatrical is slumming...although Phantom2 can certainly make me question this point of view (that's a JOKE!, oh anonymous one)

and I will go on record as saying Eddie Varley's PM's have actually made me spit up in laughter...but enough about his sex life...

and so, in the spirit of joy I experienced last night to learn once and for all that HAIRSPRAY works even without our late great mother hen in the role (not to mention to get this lovely thread back on track) I apologize!

but wait till you hear what I'm writing for my song at the Benefit!!
