Greetings from Seattle!! Saw the tour of "The Light in the Piazza" last night. All I can say is that this show only gets better and better. Katie has definitely worked on her upper register since her Broadway run. Her top notes seemed to have more ease and clarity. She was wonderful, as was everyone in the cast. It also marked the return of the "orange", "Light in the Piazza" dress (Elena wore yellow). Diana DiMarzio is the new Signora since I saw the show in March. She was very, very good. I like how all three actresses who I have seen in this role on tour, have brought something different to their character. The Paramount Theatre in Seattle is absolutely gorgeous, though a bit big in my opinion for this intimate show. The audience was extremely receptive (a lot more so than the audience I experienced in Hershey, PA).

Ironically I met up with several cast members yesterday afternoon on the Underground Tour of Seattle. I was a little apprehensive at first to say something, but I eventually congratulated David Burnham on his Helen Hayes award. I also saw Adam Overett as Fabrizio in Hershey, so I commended him on his wonderful performance as well. Everyone was extremely nice and gracious.

Seeing the show one more time in Seattle before heading back to DC. I'm now off to meet DayDreamer for breakfast.

I can't wait to see it tomorrow evening.
And yes, The Paramount Theatre is stunning.
