I was wondering if anyone knew much about The Light in the Piazza $20 student tickets. My best friend and I are going to tryo to get tickets for Wednesday. Do we both need our students IDs? can they be purchased when the box office opens that day? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
They're sold one per ID (and they tend to be really strict about it; they wouldn't sell one to my friend who said she wasn't a full time student)...sold 2 hours prior to curtain.

can be purchased any time....i got tix for july 13 in may
If you're getting tix w/ the studentix program, you can get them ahead of time, but (and I don't know seymour's situation) if you're coming into the city on a whim, or don't have an account, same day tix are an option (2 hours prior)...I got great tix (my friend and I kept going back and forth on a date because of finals, etc), so that option was handy for me/us, even though I have an account as well.
Wait...wasn't there something from the lincoln center website that students could sign up for?
Yup, you can sign up for their studenTix program and get $20 tickets ahead of time. That's what I did, and great seats were available. There's a link at Lincoln Center's website.

Question: I know I'm only allowed to buy one ticket through the studentix website in advance. Does that also preclude me from walking up in the future and getting $20 right before the show to see it again?
(I haven't even seen it yet...but everyone says such wonderful things, I figure I better be prepared! :) )
say for instance i ( a student ) wanted to go with my mom (not a student) to see The Light In The Piazza... is there a way to make sure that the ticket i get on the Lincoln Center site is next to the one that she would buy at regular price?

Kevo- yeah when you buy tickets there's a part where it asks you if you want to buy any regular priced tickets. That's what I did when I got tickets for me and my parents. Mine was $20 and the others were full price and we sat together.
Is the online studentix working for anyone else? Because it isn't working for me...for a few days now.
Ugh...
I keep getting a "system" error.
are you using Internet Explorer? I originally tried with Mozilla Firefox and got the same error message, but after switching to IE it worked just fine. I was even able to play around and look at lots of different dates.
I thought about that too, but after trying it on IE, I got the same message...I'll keep trying though.
No, it's still not working.
WHAT!? I JUST bought tickets yesterday in NYC for Piazza. Had I known about this early I would have signed up for it. GRR.

I use Firefox and didn't have any trouble looking at tickets today...

Yes, the actual window comes up, but when I click on the button for tickets, the "system error" comes up...

Aigoo-- I would first clear your temporary internet files and restart. Then see if you have popup blockers, firewalls or other things that may be preventing the site to load. then you might check your browsers internet options particularly your security settings... I would definitely use IE tho.
musicnmath-- I think the rush tix that you can purchase before the show begins is actually for $30, as opposed to studentix which is $20. They seem to be completely separate and I know wickedrentq used both. Im also under the impression that this is sortve a 'whats available' system (someone correct me if im wrong) not a particular spot which is reserved as rush.
