The director seems to have a good handle on the material. I hope they pull it off.
Picnic cast meets the press
I admit the things the actors and the director said make me hope it's not a typical Roundabout revival. I appreciate that the Broadwayworld host is a fan of the material--I think Inge is due for a major re-appraisal as a brilliant playwright up there with Miller and Williams--but I wish he would stop saying how it's about "Americana", a term (maybe because I'm Canadian) that annoys me. In a way, it is about the loss of the American Dream concept, but I think it's so much more than that.
