Fantastic! Keep the Dreamgirls threads coming. They're only getting me more and more excited :)
What great pictures! It's exciting to see this happening.

Nice pics. Jennifer looks great!
Forgive me, but I can't remember... is Usher still in the movie? I know it was rumored he was out, but I don't remember anything past the rumors.
I saw a giant display for Dreamgirls in my local movie theater the other day and squealed. No pictures or anything, it was just a stage with a spotlight, with Beyoncé and Jamie's name at the top. If the camera on my phone worked better, I would have taken a picture, but it was just exciting to see advertising for it considering it's almost a year until it actually comes out.

He's out. Keith Robinson is playing C.C.
Marquise your avi is SITTING aka I luv it
Has recording officially completed?
I would think so becuase all the songs need to be completed for the actors to snych up with them on camera. also, in a thread I posted a few days ago, Henry Krieger said his work on the film was complete. I would imagine he was there to supervise the recording.
Good for them... I always thought Beyonce is underrated as a vocalist.
yeah that beyoncé sure is underrated. i mean how do you account for the five grammys she won for her first solo effort. i wish *i* were that underrated.
where do you people get your info from? the back of cereal boxes?

Yes Marquise - that's exactly where the info is from. Have you not rushed out and bout a box of Post BeyonceOh's?
LMFPRAO!
That was a good one doodlebaby!
Sorry I was not specific... I meant in the theatre community. Britney Spears has Grammy's herself, so I don't really count those types of awards as an accomplishment nowadays. I always thought Beyonce should have been the star chose to play Aida as opposed to Braxton and Williams.... and remember being blasted for suggesting such a fake-pop-entertainer to play a vocally challenging role. I also remember that a few others who aggreed with me were looked upon as Lip-Synching lovers!! I hope she proves them all wrong with Dreamgirls.
oh yes. lovinlife you are right about that. but then what pop star gets *any* respect in the theatre community? funny thing is that alot of the actors/actresses in today's theatre community would *kill* to have a successful recording career like beyoncé or even britney. look at heather headley and idina menzel and their attempts at more mainstream recording careers.
i don't know about britney but beyoncé has the voice to sustain 8 performances a week on a broadway stage. i think she will most likely have to go in another direction with her vocals for "deena" because she does have a powerful voice.
point taken... I do agree that there are some EXTREMELY talented performers who should get their faces on the big screen... but will that bring revenue to the movie box offices? In a perfect world the answer would be yes.(Of course Britney does not have the chops to even do one show a week)
I just have one question. Why do they still need tracks to lip-synch to for the films in this day and age. Back in 1977 Streisand showed us how much better it looked and sounded as sung live on film in "A Star is Born" - yet we still use tracks & lip synch, Why? Thanks!
they have to dub and sometimes even over dub because when filming certain noises are also recorded and those noises have to be edited out of the final film. it gives for a much cleaner sound. also with today's sophisticated theatre sound systems the music can be more easily manipulated and sweetened and adjusted for the different sound formats the film will be exhibited in: dolby stereo surround, sdds, dts and the like.
