Even after these I STILL can't see him playing the man in the chair. Is it just me? I liked him on full house but his standup is COMPLETLY dirty (in my opinion)

Posted: 10/17/07 at 9:07pmi dunno....i'm gonna just wait and see. But I will say is that (now) he definatley has the right look...and he's already got comedic timing and he's a unique personality; the rest will dertermine his actually talent as an actor. I'm seeing him Nov. 10th and I'm actually pretty excited.:)

Posted: 10/17/07 at 9:16pmI mean, I'm not saying he doesn't look the part I just can't picture him playing the part. Does that make any sense?

Posted: 10/17/07 at 9:17pmI still think that no one can beat Bob Martin as Man in Chair. He's believable. I don't know if I can believe that Bob Saget lives off of theatre, or is a presumed shut-in. The whole time, I would just be thinking, "It's just not right!"

Posted: 10/17/07 at 9:18pmI was excited about him joining the cast when I first heard about it. Seeing the pictures though, something doesn't look quite right to me. I can't wait to see how he does though. I'm hoping to make it to the show sometime this month, I've been looking for an excuse to see it again :)

He simply strikes me as one of the most insincere people I have ever seen.
I always envisioned Man In Chair to posess an abundance of that character trait.
I can't even lie and hope He works out....

This casting is just wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
That said, it looks more like he's playing Mr. Rogers than the Man in the Chair.

I think he will do alright. I can't get back to NY that soon to see him so I'll just be following what the rest of you post. I havn't listened to his Comedy routine because it isn't my kind of Comedy. I do though think because of his other work, he really can be convincing, if you leave his baggage at home.
He comes off as a little neurotic personally. So I can see him irritable over certain technicalities like the Man is. He has had enough negative publicity to justify becoming more reclusive. The type of person who is outgoing in public but very reclusive in his private life. Plus, he generates his own publicity. That is the most hopeful thing about Saget's casting. That he does have his own fan group from years past. Many who probably avoided his comedy act but would welcome him in a more comfortable role like this one in Drowsy.
We will see who shows up to see his show. I guess the old cast of Full House will be there at one point. They seem to show up at his shows. This should be interesting. I think he looks the part in the costume. He easily transform into that comfortable Father type fairly easy it looks like to me.

Is it just me, or does his head look tiny in these photos?
I was aghast when I first read he was cast, (hey that rhymed) but doing a little more research on what he's done, he seems to be a pretty versatile guy. And I read an interview in which he sounded pretty sincere and respectful of the material. I'm not gonna write him off just yet.

KQull- that did make me laugh~after all the Ursula comments on the board. Yet the same can be said for Bob Martin in that sweater. It only fits Jonathan Crombie but still it is too baggy.
I could say that is the trouble with being tall and slim. He chose to wear Grey than Tan though. I still liked the "Man on the Chair" pun but sometimes, I am easy to entertain.

Posted: 10/22/07 at 3:21amWell I have seen Bob Martin, Jonathan Crombie, Jonathan Glover (Lionel Luthor, Smallville) and Now Bob Saget (Full House, Americas funniest videos) all as the Man in the Chair, they have all brought own personalities to the character, grant it Bob Martin created it but over all they each bring him to light in a different way. Saget is no Martin but his frist three shows have been almost sold out and with the others it was up and down also Martin created the role.
