I have no idea if Pippin has played in London before, but if they were able to keep Patina Miller and Matthew James Thomas in the their lead roles, it could be a hit.

There was that production last year which set it as a video game, I believe and got good reviews.
The original Fosse production in the 70s was, I believe, a great big flop.

Miller may get away with it since she did Sister Act in London (I still think the role would work better in London with an English performer) Josefina Gabrielle would be a great Fastrada. Samantha Spiro would be an ideal Berthe. Ben Stott would be a good Pippin.

Matthew James Thomas is English, so he could easily go over there.
I think they could get some interesting people in the cast. That said, I am not sure if it would transfer well considering they had the other revival not that long ago. If they choose to transfer it, they sure wouldn't NEED to cast strictly English people. (I just find it absurd that people think you need a cast of the same nationality as the country it's playing in, when, in fact, this cast is diverse, and seems to be doing quite nicely.)

Hahahaha. As has been said, Matthew James Thomas, the title character, is English. Andrea Martin has had success across the globe. Patina Miller received critical claim and an Olivier nomination in London in "Sister Act."
Most of the circus performers are from Canada or Europe. Orion Griffiths is English.
Even if your absurd assertion is true, which I would sincerely hope it isn't, this is one the most internationally-diverse casts on Broadway and I would highly it would be an issue on the West End.

I am just laughing at this. Re-cast with English actors. LOL.
Edit, Orion is English also. Most of the Circus people are from other countries. France, Canada, England.

The show lasted about 80 performances at the Her Majesty's originally in London. Big flop, but I don't think London was quite ready for the show. The recent Menier production did well but nobody could see it working commercially in its digital direction.
The show I think would work well in its correct format for London, its not a big show and the circus element makes it more accessible. I know Cameron is concerned the show may look at West End and be big competition for Barnum.
