Hey all musicians, (and everyone else really)!

Does anyone know what program/font is used to create the pit orchestra books that are used on Broadway (and MTI).

Thanks!

i would guess that most are done in Finale, some in Sibelius, and almost none at all by hand any more...

The standard for Broadway notation is FINALE.

Yes, for some inexplicable reason Finale won the battle in NY, and Sibelius is the standard pretty much everywhere else in the world.

So, if I went into Finale, what template/preface/font would I use?

Thanks!

We all create our own templates, really. There's no "standard" for font. In general, the "jazz" font is a no go for musical theatre use.

Regardless of the program, pick whatever font feels most comfortable for you, as long as it is readable.
