I'm liking the Chastain suggestion, although I'm not 100% on board for the making of this film at all.

Anna Kendrick would be fabulous as June, I really hope that happens. I'd be thrilled.
Jessica Chastain is a very very busy girl, she recently had to drop out of the next big Tom Cruise sci-fi project due to her busy schedule. She's involved in the next Kathryn Bigelow project, and doing THE HEIRESS. I'm so happy and I respect her so much for taking the time to do a Broadway show when she's so demanded in Hollywood, it shows a true commitment to her theatre roots. Now that I read the suggestion I honestly can't think of anyone I'd like to see more in the part, Chastain is so transformative, and so stunning on screen, she'd be a brilliant Louise. Can someone here make that happen please?

Alfred Molina would be the best Herbie opposite Streisand.

Of that list, I would be supportive of Laura Benanti reprising her role or Laura Osnes. I do think that Megan Hilty would be quite good as June, though.

So. I hear Spielberg really wants to direct a musical.
I guess no one cares anymore that Gypsy Rose Lee was not a stick.
Most of the actresses (loosely) mentioned here are way too pretty to pull off the transformation the piece needs to work.
If Babs and Lea do it they can change her to Gypsy Rose Levi.
