Hi there. I have grown to love the help you all can offer. I already checked the search engine and found some information, but I figure since there's so many of you and only one of me, this is the best way to go (especially considering the fact that a lot of people know things that just haven't been posted yet).
So in February I am taking a trip to New York. I originally wanted it to only be two weeks, but however long it needs to be - oh well. This is why I need help with some dates. Here are the shows I plan to see and any questions that need (or would really like) some answering.
Blithe Spirit: opens February 26. Previews??
Hair: Previews: On or about February 13, 2009 (thanks dancingthru)
ITH: Lin should be leaving mid-February. No need on a specific date, but if anyone has any advice on whether I should wait for a discount code from now til then or just buy it outright, I'd be pretty happy.
West Side Story: I know the advertisement says February, but do we know actual dates for previews and such yet?
Hedda Gabler: opening late January. No questions.
Gypsy: dumb question since it's pretty unlikely, but have any of the principal leads (especially Patti) announced any off-dates? I know Laura's busy filming Eli Stone right about now and Patti has only taken one day off, but I just want to know to be prepared (and I'm just crossing my fingers I get Leigh-Ann again and not musicalthea....i mean...emma zaks.
And also, if any of you have suggestions on what to see that will be playing then, please throw it my way. This will only be my third trip to New York (third ever and also third in a one-year period) so sorry if I seem a bit needy but I really like to plan stuff ahead of time. Also, my plans have been somewhat thwarted since I really wanted to see Harvey in Hairspray, Spring Awakening again, and the one-night Night/Music, but throughout my research I've realized this is pretty impossible. So please - suggest away.
P.S. oooh any good restaurants/diners/etc. that DON'T rhyme with Wed Mobster or Drolive Larden, that are open/good to go to either BEFORE a show or especially RIGHT AFTERWARDS, I'd love you forever. Whenever I'm done watching a show and doing my usual stagedooring, I find that nothing is open. Ever. And I'm from Vegas where EVERYTHING is 24 hours. This is strange for me. Help! On the plus side, the first time I ever tried lotto was this past trip for Rent and I won and took this really nice girl I met in line who showed me how to do everything. She also showed me this FANTASTIC pizza place/bar that is inside a reformed church. Don't even remember the name, but wow. So yeah, any suggestions. And really, I have from now til' February so keep them coming.
And once again, I thank you all. I love this board!
